In 2021, LyricalGenes was a finalist in Kenya's International Sports Film Festival and received an Honorable Mention at Atlanta's See Us On Film: Black Pride International Film Festival for his impactful film Against Yourself, which he scored and narrated, also handling voiceover production. This film was also in the running for film distribution on BET in 2022 and was the most watched short film of the competition at the BESLA Film Festival.
